Hemanth Reddy’s Stunning Century Powers Andhra Pradesh to Thrilling Win Over Punjab

Pune: Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy – Super League A

Young Andhra Pradesh batter M. Hemanth Reddy produced a sensational performance, smashing an unbeaten 109 to guide his team to a thrilling five-wicket victory over Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Super League A match on Sunday.

Chasing a challenging target of 206, Andhra Pradesh were in deep trouble early on, losing five wickets for just 56 runs. The top and middle order collapsed under pressure, leaving the team on the brink of defeat.

Walking in at No. 3, Hemanth Reddy displayed remarkable composure. After a cautious start, he gradually shifted gears and launched a fierce counterattack, even as wickets continued to fall at the other end.

The 23-year-old played the innings of his life, scoring 109 not out off 53 balls, laced with 11 boundaries and seven sixes. His knock marked his career-best performance in just his second Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy appearance.

Reddy found able support from SDNV Prasad, who remained unbeaten on 53 off 35 balls. The duo stitched together an unbeaten 155-run partnership for the sixth wicket, steering Andhra Pradesh home with one ball to spare.

Andhra Pradesh eventually reached 211/5 in 19.5 overs, sealing a memorable win and reviving their campaign after an earlier loss to Madhya Pradesh.
